Jerry Azumah is a native of Worcester, MA. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire and completed a seven-year All-Pro football career with the Chicago Bears.
As an entrepreneur, Azumah has teamed up with Susan Miner of Premier Relocation to create Chicago’s only luxury real estate concierge for its professional sports franchises. Established in 2009, Premier Athletes provides exclusive high-end residences and delivers world-class amenities to ensure a smooth transition to life in Chicago.
Personally, and professionally active in community affairs, Azumah served on the University of New Hampshire Foundation Board of Directors. He established his ASAP Foundation (Azumah Student Assistance Program) in 2004 that provides scholarships to under served students that attend private secondary institutions in Illinois and Massachusetts. In 2010, the ASAP Foundation teamed up with Link Unlimited, an organization that provides educational services and mentoring to economically disadvantaged African American youth in the Chicago area.
Azumah is a member of the Board of Directors of Bears Care, a Chicago Bears charitable organization that supports numerous charities and assists those in need from programs supporting education, youth athletics, medical research and health awareness in the Chicago-land community. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Governor’s Council on Health and Physical Fitness, whose purpose is to raise awareness to K-12 students statewide. In 2009, Azumah joined the Board of the Chicago International Film Festival’s Black Perspective. Founded in 1997, the Black Perspective Program is the foremost destination for world-premier films, actors, and events that expand and celebrate Black culture. In addition to showing films, a special tribute is held honoring the film world’s greatest stars on their outstanding contributions to the cinematic arts. Mr. Azumah also volunteers his time motivational speaking and attending several charitable organizations and events.
Jerry has made a smooth transition into the media world and currently serves as a sports analyst for Comcast SportsNet, Fox Chicago and ESPN 1000 Radio since 2006 as well as contributing to several other media outlets regularly.
